Jose Candelario, MD, PhD, is an experienced physician specializing in family medicine and wound care. At Apple Urgent Care in Colton, Coachella, Moreno Valley, Hemet, Perris, Riverside, Indio, and San Bernardino, California, Dr. Candelario provides comprehensive care for urgent illnesses and injuries, including food poisoning and hives.
Dr. Candelario received his bachelor’s degree in biology from California State University, Dominguez Hills, in Carson, California, before returning to school for his PhD in molecular microbiology and immunology at Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California. Dr. Candelario later earned his medical doctorate at Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine in North Haven, Connecticut.
Throughout his career, Dr. Candelario has received numerous accolades, including resident of the month and year, the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine Grant, the Dr. Bruce Koeppen scholarship, and the Postdoctoral Research Supplement Award.
Dr. Candelario has also been published in several prestigious publications and presented on numerous medical topics, including breast cancer and spine care.
He stays abreast of current research by participating in professional organizations, including the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Board of Family Physicians, the American College of Surgeons, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society.
Outside of work, Dr. Candelario enjoys hiking, reading, teaching, and playing guitar. He is thrilled to welcome new patients to Apple Urgent Care.
